I love to write travel blog posts without actually traveling!
Writing for 3 years has taught me that you have to give your writing a specific direction after you get experience.
If you do not know me, I am a professional SEO content writer. And recently, I just realized that I enjoy writing helpful content in the traveling niche.
Maybe it is due to the fact that I do not get a chance to travel as much as I love to. However, it urges me to write more detailed and specific content related to travel destinations.
I do not get tired of researching tourist spots and finding their unique vibe, culture, and aura.
And what does it give me? A detailed and well-researched content that not an average lazy writer would write.
How do lazy writers write an average travel blog?
They generally use the same adjectives for one type of place. For example, if they are writing about a restaurant, they would use words like:
- tempting cuisines
- exquisite dining
- establishments boast limited seating
- rich cultural tapestry
- architectural marvels
- realms of taste, texture, and creativity
- culinary delights
- embark on a multisensory voyage
- culinary offerings
These phrases are not only a huge turn-off for the readers but also sound very “ChatGPTian” :|
These words are screaming that you are a non-writer trying to write (apparently) good content.
How to write a good travel blog post?
To write a helpful blog post, you need to go deep into the details of the destination. Read their reviews on Reddit, Google Reviews, Quora, and several discussion boards. Plus, their local blogs (maybe written in their local language) will give you a clearer picture of what the place is all about.
If it is a luxury travel destination, it must have a different focal point than other places. You have to find it with extensive research and present it in your writing style.
Lastly, garnishing the blog with your unique storytelling style will make it pop.
