Oh man, I really love Dora. It’s such a simple show, but it has so many lessons we can learn even as adults.

If by some miracle you’re not familiar with Dora the Explorer, it is a children’s television show that aired on Nick Jr. centered around a young explorer named (you guessed it) Dora and her booted simian companion, Boots.

How the show works

The pair of adventurers go on a plethora of different tasks and trials such as returning books to the library or hunting pirate treasure, sometimes even saving princes. Each of the show’s episodes is similarly structured as is common in television shows of this demographic.

The team is presented with a task. They look at the map to find out how they can get to the place they need to go. During the route they’re presented with some trial, Boots get stuck, they need something to help them get past an obstacle or Swiper comes swiping.

Once they move past the trial, they sing and dance and celebrate on their way to the next step.

And so repeats until they get to where they need to go! If only real life were this simple.
