What to do when you feel lonely or sad sometimes?

In times of this covid 19 pandemic, its natural to feel lonely, to feel bored, repeating the same chores, day after day, its all similar routine! it is natural, so first of all ,don’t feel worried.

Its a phase and as also said by Abraham Lincoln , this too, shall, pass.

but its significant to note that your mental health matters the most.

Because if you’re not head and mentally feeling good, your mood and thoughts can go all negative, and one thought leads to another, its like some toy train that goes in circles.

If there is some person behind your sadness who is not calling or texting you back or maybe you got into a quarrel ,someone you expected would understand your problem is not able to read you ,if the problem is a person--- give it a day or two...focus on other things for the time.

If the problem is career related or some financial setback, take a break, breath and tell youself you’ve got it.you could do anything you want to,sky is the limit---literally! You have already come so far, would that be possible if you were not you?

i ll give you some tips on how can elevate you mood and feel happy on such times:

1.GRATITUDE JOURNAL- starting from your child days ,think of all the things you are thankful for.It maybe your parents or teachers schooling you how to read,it maybe your father or aunt teaching how to cycle , your friend who taught you the guitar or the lyrics.Your favourite computer game and all those tv-cartoons to just exist.Your school to have play-breaks.or the world to have mountains , vast beaches, immense greens or simply the air you breathe.

There is so much to be thankful for!

Make this your habit and make it a point to write three things you are thankful for each day in a journal, eliminate all the negatives before you go to bed, just 3 things you are lucky you do that day, write them and feel the difference!

2.MUSIC,Music,Music-- can’t stress it more.. Music not only "has charms to soothe the savage breast." It also helps us to heal..!

According to Harvard medical studies, music seems to slow heart rate, lower blood pressure, relieves pain and reduce levels of stress hormones. It can also provide some relief to heart attack and stroke victims and patients undergoing surgery or patients with parkinsonism. How does music exert these benefits? Some research suggests that music may promote the brain’s ability to make new connections between nerve cells.

Another idea is that it works its magic through its rhythms. We are rhythmic beings, after all! Our heartbeat, breathing, and brain waves are all rhythmic. The human brain and nervous system are hard-wired to distinguish music from noise and to respond to soothing rhythm and repetitions, tones and tunes.

So next time you feel sad, use music as a tool to tune your mind and heart, you’ll be all bright, cheerful and energetic in few minutes!

3.TALK to a positive friend - Joy is contagious. Research shows the more you surround yourself with positive people, the happier you’ll feel.Go through all your past golden memories, chat about the times you were together and how now its all about failed execution of all the plans but one day they’ll all be successful. catch up with them in the form of what books they are dwelling in currently, what is it all about, the movies or TV show they are binging on currently, how changed they are as a person in this lockdown, its always a good idea to chat, all things positive!

4. you can always talk to your MOM or siblings or someone in your family if you are home sick or missing home food. Sometimes just hearing their voice could help you ease your loneliness and make you happy from inside.

5.MEDITATE-

Research shows that allowing yourself a few moments of zen-like escape each day may make you happier. Download a meditation app, follow short sessions on it .

Just sit back comfortably, focus on your breath, and get recharged to become a happy clown spreading smiles.

6.TRY WORKOUTS:

simple walking on your terrace or gardens, a jog for 10-20 mins admist some greens, some yoga on your yoga mat. Choose to stay fit, monitor your weight regularly ,achieving such short term goals can give you those adrenaline kicks.

7.READ A HAPPY BOOK:

Some authors that write in light and humour filled witty tone.Try to pick up such a book and you’ll find as if the funny witty author talking to you only! who said books dont talk?

pick the right book, and they’ll tell you exactly what you need to hear.

8.INDULGE in catering a HAPPY MEAL:

It can be as simple as blending banana or mango with frozen yogurt, melting chocolate on a baked cookie or making chocolate chip ice-cream as a treat.

Using colourful vegetables for salads, some refreshing minty fruit cooling drinks can always make you happy instantly.

9. PAMPER yourself :

Its all the things you take care in life of, that you achieve. Care for your skin, you have good skin, care for your hair you have good hair. Its just like your relationships with people, if you cared enough, they stay. Caring doesn’t necessarily means only giving: it also means listening, observing what your skin hair or even relationships want from you.

But to be happy you just need diy masks;

add coffee, lime juc to gram flour and curd, leave for 15 mins on face and voila!simple Aloe Vera on skin can cool it, simple curd on hair or a hot water shower with some happy music is all a delight,a warm water foot scrub or nail painting is also a pleasure.

10. Look on the BRIGHT side of life;smile!

Trust me, things could have been much worse, there are people living in more hardships than you are; people who are blind, paralysed , having difficulties to buy even bread, people living without roof on top of their heads. But all situations can be reversed, if you are positive and healthy from your mind.

You are lucky and blessed to breathe at any time.

Always keep in mind life is a precious gift! Live every second filling it with utmost joy!

Entertain no stupid reason to be sad or lonely---you have the whole world darling!
