How I started reading books?
Part-II
As the famous artist and author Austin Kleon says “Nothing is more important than an unread library.” Collect and keep track of books even though you are not planning to read them.
Did you know that science shows 6 minutes of reading a book reduces stress by 68% and numerous other studies show that reading keeps your brain to function more efficiently.
The power to speak, write and boost up your productivity comes with the influence of books. Now, at the end of the column, You will be struck by a serendipitous fact which manifests that books are going to change your life.
Now let’s dwell into how? when? And why? Did I start reading books.
How did I start?
It began as a consciousness lightning which struck me when I was very naive and doing nothing with my life, and I remember watching a YouTube video, which has a title something like “8 traits successful people have in common.” Ultimately, I always wanted to do something good with my life and wanted to be successful. Moreover, That video just touched a corner of my heart which motivates me to read until today. That is just a Whiteboard animation which created a tremendous impact on my routine. Look at your shelves; There might be at least one book that is rotting since ages, You wanted to read and never was able to due to procrastination.
Remember this article preaches to read and skim.
Never add reading a book to your to-do list. Do you add brushing to your to-do list? No, that is because it is your routine. Similarly, make reading your daily cycle.
A paraphrase of a motivational speaker’s words “We are more acting like human doings. Instead of to-do lists we should have to-be lists, where you want to be? What do you want to be? etc. Because we are human beings, not human doings.”
When did I start?
I probably started when I was in 12th grade. I think ‘Now’ Will be the perfect time for you. Keep yourself motivated and inspired. You have to know that it’s tough during the beginning & it is going to be more harder as you are moving closer to books. But remember, There is no such thing as “Smooth mountain”. To reach the acme of success you have to pass through steep slopes, rough ridges, twists, and turns. Struggle and criticism are the prerequisites of success. So don’t give up in the middle. Reach the apex.
Why did I start?
Everyone wants to be successful,So was I. I was encircled with choices around my head which didn’t allow me to pursue a wise decision. Then I started reading a book called “Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. In which she said “Just believe in what you love, the universe will rearrange itself to make it happen”. This single line brought so much shine into me, I cannot get rid of books until now. After reading a couple of books, you have so much information to share it with your friends and family. Which enables people to see you in a different perspective.
So you have a switch that can slingshot you to your success. I choose to pull the lever. Do you ?
