Understanding the new Matrix movie has proven quite difficult for several people, especially those who were not particularly aware when they watched the first three movies. This prompted this new machine or analyst as they are called, to recreate Neo and Trinity from their old source code. So while it is still Neo and Trinity, let’s just say you are looking at or watching a reboot, one that is alive out of the mercy of the machines.
Secondly, Everyone from Neo’s old crew died, except Trinity so don’t expect to see old faces from the old ship. However, the new Morpheus is a result of a code, Neo himself inputted as a reminder of something similar to Morpheus in his new life as a game developer. A life that isn’t real but is a construct of the machines to subject him to unawareness of his capacity or ability as The One or perhaps his old glory as The Chosen one.
Thirdly, Neo in the first few scenes was imprisoned by the machines but not quite. After he died along with trinity in the old Matrix Trilogy, while saving the humans and crashing his ship into the headquarters of the machines, he was saved by the new machine(s)/analyst appearing as his psychologist; he was rebooted and convinced that he was a game developer and his life as The Chosen one was simply a dream which he then developed into a close to real Game. The same was done to Trinity. However, many questions why Trinity has no understanding of Neo and Neo initially didn’t know trinity until he was rescued by the New Modeled Morpheus. Well, this is because While rebooting them, the Machine realized that when together, Neo grew quite strong enough to break the psychological barrier. So the analyst developed a trick; keep them close but not that close.
Another thing that should perhaps be strongly noted is that the entire rebuild of the Matrix system, done by the new authority or analyst depends on drawing its energy and therefore, sustainability from the anguish and energy productivity of Neo and Trinity through what they call their “Ressurection pods”. However, in the wake of Neo’s escape, this fell only to Trinity which perhaps means that when Trinity escapes the matrix crashes or is close to crashing, this you would have to find out in the movie. Though another twist could be that since these two are the life of the new Matrix reality, when or if they break free, they would become some sort of God-like figures within the matrix.
