Philippians 3:13
“My friends, I don’t feel I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead.”

Life has its ups and downs. Achievements are worth celebrating, but we can’t hold onto those moments indefinitely. On the other side, when things don’t go as planned, we often find ourselves stuck thinking about them.

“Why center your thoughts on the past when the best is yet to be? Why be shackled to the past when the future is brighter than what has been?”

Reflect on that!

When we think about the past, we often remember the tough times, hoping for better days ahead. But here’s the deal: Your past includes both good and bad moments. As the year ends, I want to tell you, no matter how your past was, it’s time to move on!

So, how was your year? No matter what, my friend, MOVE ON!

Repeat after me, “I am still not all I should be, the best is yet to come!

You may not be able to forget everything, but do not live in it! Those that live in the past are either people that boast about past glories or people that complain about past failures and one common characteristic that is so evident in these people is that their creativity has been crippled! Do not be like that!

Dwelling in the past cripples your creativity! Hey, Move on!

Even God, our father, does not dwell in the past, God is always doing a new thing every time!

Isaiah 43:19
“Forget what happened long ago! Don’t think about the past. I am creating something new.”

That is why he said, in 1st corinthians 2:9:

“What God has planned for people who love him is more than eyes have seen or ears have heard. It has never even entered our minds!”

You see how creative God is? God does not dwell in the past!

Do not let anything (whether good or bad) behind you interfere with your present progress or future efforts! Read that again!

Have you ever noticed that when you’re in a race, where you look is where you go? It’s true! That’s why good athletes are told not to look back while running — it slows them down. Do you understand now?

Life is similar to a race — you’re the athlete with a destination. Regardless of what happened in the past, don’t linger there; keep moving forward! Your existence has a purpose, and dwelling on the past only holds you back. Move on, my dear!

The future is brighter than what has been, the past has not yet revealed the future with the best stuff for you! Move on!

As we wrap up the year, we’ve experienced highs that made us feel unstoppable and lows that made life seem less bright. All these moments are now part of our past. As we step into the new year, let’s set a simple goal: leave the past behind and focus on what’s ahead. Embrace a growth mindset — the belief that we can learn, grow, and improve. It’s like planting seeds for a better tomorrow. So, here’s to moving on and embracing a mindset that sees challenges as opportunities for growth! Cheers to a new year of possibilities!
