This paradigm shift in the educational landscape made online learning a popular choice among those who find the method to be more convenient and conducive to their needs — even until today.

1. AMA OEd

AMA OEd prides itself as one of the first fully online universities in the Philippines. It was established in 2015 and is currently one of the biggest online universities in the country.

The online institution offers the following Master’s Degree programs as of September 2023: Master in Business Administration, Master of Science in Computer Science, Master of Arts in Computer Education, Master’s in Business Administration, Master’s in Information Technology, and Master’s in Public Administration.

2. UP Open University

The University of the Philippines Open University (UP-OU) is the pioneer of online universities in the country. According to the official website, it was established last February 23, 1995 and continues to be one of the leading distance education institutions in the Philippines.

UP-OU offers the following online Master’s Degree programs as of September 2023: Master of Arts in Nursing, Master of ASEAN Studies, Master of Public Management, Master of Social Work, Master of Education programs, Master of Information Systems, and many more.

Besides its master’s programs, UP-OU also offers certificate, associate, diploma, undergraduate, and doctoral programs.

3. Mapúa University

Mapúa University’s fully online programs promise to deliver an “anytime, anywhere” flexible mode of learning.

According to their post on LinkedIn, Mapúa University offers eight (8) fully online Master’s Degree programs, majority of which are focused in science and engineering.

4. Philippine Christian University

The Philippine Christian University (PCU) is a Protestant private university related to The United Methodist Church and United Church of Christ in the Philippines. Its main campus is located in Manila, but the institution also offers online courses.

PCU offers fully online non-thesis Master’s Degree programs, most of which are specific to Business Administration and Management.

The Master in Management program offers the following majors: Accounting, Public Administration, Public Health Administration, Hospitality Administration, Educational Management, Criminal Justice, Environmental Planning, National Security Administration, Police Administration, and International Business.

Although it has been under hot water for the past couple of months due to the cause order issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) against the university, PCU continues to offer its courses and programs to all aspiring applicants.
