You know what, it is closer to us than you think. The anti-poaching agreements show that even those of us making a hundred dollars an hour or more actually have our wages suppressed because of the illegal actions of our corporate overlords.

Does the fact that we’re underpaid mean that we deserve more help than the kid dying of diarrhea in a remote village? Absolutely not. However, this is not an either or proposition. We can do more to provide access to clean water and good hygiene and access to basic healthcare without compromising on the rights of workers at home.

I’m sorry you think this sounds entitled. I don’t agree with the original poster too much but I wholeheartedly support their right to publicly state their salary and working condition without fear of retaliation.
