This is not very good advice. you would NEVER run `python install’ from a postinst script. you do that in your `rules’ file, perhaps, to install files in to the debian/tmp directory which iirc is the root of the file structure that will

make up your packages files. Doing any kind of compile/install script in postinst is VERY wrong and hackish. It means dpkg wont list your packages actual files.
