Acupuncture: Is it for you?

Last week, I was invited to a corporate health fair to talk to employees about acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Being in San Francisco, I assumed that most people are at least familiar with acupuncture, even though they may not have tried it themselves. I was prepared with all my needles and supplies, thinking there would be people expecting a free treatment or demo. To my surprise, quite a few folks gave me a blank stare when I told them I was an acupuncturist. Some had a faint idea that it involved needles, but not much else. I ended up spending most of my time not sticking needles into people, but educating them on how acupuncture works, and what conditions it treats. Good thing I had created some flyers to hand out!
