Audio Distribution Technologies Course @ ILIA — Chicago

I will be returning back to The Illinois Institute of Art — Chicago this fall as an adjunct faculty member in the Audio Production program. During 2010–2011, I taught a course in critical listening (AUDB203 Listening & Analysis).

I’m excited to begin teaching ‘Audio Distribution Technologies’ (AUDB283) this fall. Course description is as follows:

This course addresses the end part of media production delivery and distribution. Students will study a variety of delivery methods and systems and determine the advantages and limitations of each. They will also examine the relationships between delivery systems and distribution methods and evaluate the relative efficiency, cost and effectiveness of each.

I’ve ordered two Routledge/Focal Press broadcast audio engineering books for review but am open to any options. It would be nice to find a single text that is comprehensive for the course. I’m also entertaining using the Swift curricuum for app development recently published by Apple.
