TNS Roadmap📍

First of all, we are grateful for your support of the Columbus-5 mainnet launch. The traction was far exceeded our expectation and we received a number of great feedback and ideas on the development of TNS 🌕

TNS is a bit over a week old project and currently has 10,000+ domains registered on Terra. Now let’s talk about the roadmap for Terra Name Services (TNS).

Upcoming Integrations

Our main priority is to integrate with the commonly used services on Terra, Terra Station, and Terra Finder.

We have submitted the two pull requests to integrate TNS with Terra Station and Terra Finder.

Let’s look through the functionalities of the two requests.

Terra Station

Users will be able to send Terra Native tokens and CW20 tokens using .ust domain on the wallet page.

Also, the user will be able to browse with .ust domain on the connect and use .ust domain on the community-pool proposal.

Terra Finder

Users will be able to search their address with their .ust domain on the search box which will be resolved to their Terra address.

After the pull requests are reviewed, merged, and deployed to production by the Terra team, users should be able to use the above functionalities.

Next step: Ecosystem Integration

To expand the use cases for TNS, we have reached out to multiple teams in the ecosystem to integrate TNS with their services. We are grateful to be able to work with great builders in the space and have them on board.

Extraterrestrial Finder

Extraterrestrial Finder is the community-maintained Terra Blockchain Explorer. Users will be able to search ETFinder using their .ust domain on https://finder.extraterrestrial.money/.

Ape Board

Ape Board is a cross-chain DeFi dashboard that supports Terra. Users will be able to view their Terra portfolio using their .ust domain.

TNS.js

We have published the JS SDK, tns.js, for any builders who wish to integrate .ust domain with their services. You can find the package here.

Next step: Reverse Record

Our team is currently working on the reverse record contract. The reverse record will allow users to map their Terra address to the TNS domain.

Any services that support the reverse record will be able to display your .ust domain name instead of the Terra address.

Road toward Decentralization

TNS will be an important infrastructure for Terra ecosystem and our ultimate goal is to decentralize the governance of TNS and transfer the governance over to the Terra community.

Our team will initially lead the effort to integrate with commonly used services on Terra and promote more use cases for TNS. After that, we will set up TNS DAO for governance and transfer the ownership of the TNS contract over to the DAO.

TNS is still in it very early stage and this is initial thoughts from our team. All feedbacks and ideas for decentralization is very welcome. We are looking forward to your participation!
