Terrapins Update — Roadmap and a Thank You

Hi Terrapin Community,

This article will provide some much requested information on the post-launch roadmap, but first we need to start with a big thank-you.

Firstly, to the other NFT projects on Terra. You come to Terra for the stable coin, but you stay for the community. We are so thankful to the teams at Luna Bulls and Galactic Punks — from sharing tips on minting platforms and handling bots, to general good vibes. Thank you, we couldn’t have asked for a more supportive and collaborative blockchain to launch on. 🙏

Secondly, to RandomEarth. As pioneers in NFT launches on Terra, they managed 3 high profile NFT projects within days, rapidly iterating and improving from one project to the next. From our perspective they were incredibly responsive, flexible and professional. We can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store next. 🔥

And finally, but most importantly, to the community. From the early days, when there was only a creepy clown and some backwards phrases (ecarehtsniwydaetsdnawols, KYKYI), our community members have supported us and made the OG terrapin community what it is today. ❤️

Thanks for your understanding and flexibility, as we made several last minute changes to just about every aspect of the mint, including minting times, whitelist plans, and mint caps. Although there were some hiccups, we are proud of the fact we ended with over 5,000 unique Terrapin holding addresses.

The Roadmap — This is the way:

Many have been asking about our plans for Terrapins moving forward, and what utility Terrapins will possess.

Protocol Integrations and the Terrapin Community Fund:

Terrapins have partnered with Pylon Protocol — an innovative Anchor based yield redirection protocol on Terra. Pylon allows people to make lossless UST deposits while supporting projects through yield redirection.

We have committed 1% of total supply (100 Terrapins) to the pool, including a mixture of common and rare Terrapins, and will be running a 5 week pool.

For every 100 UST deposited, you will receive one entry in the weekly draw with regular snapshots to encourage long term holding.

In addition to UST deposits, for every 100 UST worth of MINE staked at https://app.pylon.money you get an additional entry (must also have equivalent UST deposited in Terrapin pool. eg 200 UST, 1000 MINE at 0.2UST is 4 entries per week)*

Each week, 18 common and 2 rare Terrapins (<1.5% trait) will be released — with your chance of winning proportional to UST deposited. You can withdraw your UST at any time with no minimum lockup period

In this case, the yield on the UST pools will be directed to the Terrapin Community Fund, which will be used to fund various community projects, competitions and airdrops as described below.

Once the initial Pylon pool is closed, the community fund will be topped up with ongoing Pylon pools as available, or from royalties on secondary market sales.

Giveaways, prizes and airdrops; Diamond hands will be rewarded.

1. Hare-pins: As stated in our launch roadmap — 5 lucky HODLers will be airdropped a super rare hare pin (5/10,000) with a snapshot to be taken every day at 10pm UTC for the first 5 days post launch. Only diamond hands eligible for draw i.e. don’t have it up for sale to be included in the snapshot
2. Trading giveaway: For the next 5 days, we will be running a daily giveaway for people who purchase Terrapins at https://randomearth.io
   Each day, if you purchase any Terrapin, you will be entered into the draw to win a common Terrapin.

3. Launch Prizes: All prizes from our launch giveaways will be distributed soon. With the launch of the P2P feature on RandomEarth we are now able to transfer your NFT! If you are one of those winners, we have reached out to you on Twitter/Discord so please keep an eye out.
4. Diamond Hands Lottery: Every week, we will be dropping $500 UST to a random Terrapin HODLer from the community fund**. 💎🙌 Update: These funds will be directed to the game prize pool, in response to community feedback.

Charity:

As mentioned on our website terrapinsonterra.com — charity is an integral part of Terrapins on Terra.

1. 200 Luna will be donated via Angel Protocol to a charity supporting our IRL turtle brethren and keeping our oceans clean — we are in discussions with Angel Protocol currently about the charity that best aligns with the values of the Terrapin community.
2. 20% of all royalties from secondary sales via Random Earth will be donated to Angel Protocol to charities that allow our IRL turtles to have clean water to swim in and a happy planet to live on. At time of writing, less than 24 hours after public launch, this is over $18,000 UST.

Puzzles:

The terrapin community was first united by their love of puzzles. But finding Terror-pin was only the beginning. There are 5 Astro-pins lost in space and we need your help finding them. Keep your eyes peeled for more details.

We know there are some gigabrains in the community, based on how quickly you solved Terror-pin’s puzzles. If you think you have what it takes to develop the next puzzle, stay tuned for more details. We will be rewarding $500 UST per puzzle, for the puzzles that get integrated into the platform.

Games:

Our devs are currently creating a game, exclusive for Terrapins holders. We don’t want to give away all the details but what we can tell you is:

• A Terrapin civil war is brewing. This is a call to arms.
• Battle Terrapins — with skills points based on trait rarity and hard work — train up your Terrapin to make them a force to be reckoned with
• Training and rank stays with your Terrapin — even after being traded on the secondary market
• Weekly $500 UST prize pool for the top ranked Terrapins, derived from the Terrapin Community Fund
