I’m afraid you’re confused about the meaning of inspiration. Inspiration is a wake-up call, telling you that you have work to do. It isn’t a shiny metal fob that tells you everything is going to be okay, it’s a punch-clock that tells you if you want to make something out of this inspiration you are going to have to do something. Inspiration is not the enemy. Shame certainly is, which you’ve implied later in this piece, but I’ll tell you what… without inspiration you wouldn’t have had enough direction to write it in the first place.
To be sure, inspiration alone never accomplished anything… but nothing worth doing was ever accomplished without some inspired direction along the way.
