50 Miles Per Week: 00 Introduction

Welcome to my new personal writing project, 50 Miles Per Week where I’ll monologue about my running as I see fit.

I’m an amateur recreational distance runner since June 2011 based in Melbourne, who started running as a way to lose weight and kept going from then on. Some significant milestones to date include my first fun run which was the 14km City2Sea in November 2011, my first sub-20 minute parkrun at Albert parkrun 2013 and my first marathon in Berlin in 2013.

I’ve had a few wins and struggles along the way, with lots of learning and improvement too. I train and run with the Crosbie Crew and also race for South Melbourne Athletic Club during the Athletics Victoria cross country and track seasons. I have a tendency to roam around the Melbourne running scene, making appearances at various parkruns and supporting local runners wherever they are.
