We’re tired of Tumblr’s troubles

Many of our posts originally appeared on Tumblr, but Tumblr’s been doing more and more to discourage anyone writing about or photographing sex from posting. So we’ve decided to accept their policy changes and start writing elsewhere.

It appears that our gut feeling about Tumblr is backed up by data: according to “Tumblr is Tumbling,” the number of new, daily posts peaked in 2014: “These figures are derived by tracking the incremental unique identification of every new post on Tumblr. By comparing it with the date of the posts themselves, we can know a very close to exact number of posts made a day.” Around 2013 or 2014, Tumblr also began restricting NSFW content. Coincidence? Could be, but we think not.
