HEALTHKIT

Improving fitness as well as reliable health information.

Final Exam on MITSO2 — HCI (SY 14 — 15)

INTRODUCTION

I usually search health care tips via internet because I’m a health conscious person. This is my first time to use this application plus I do believe in the saying “Let’s keep our HEALTH to enjoy our WEALTH”. By this app it is an entirely new way to use your health and fitness information. HealthKit allows apps that provide health and fitness services to share their data and it goes with an easy – to – read dashboard. A user’s health information is stored in a centralized and secure location and the user decides which data should be shared with your app.

OBJECTIVE

Identify the pain points by assessment, analysis, and implementation within HealthKit application thru web apps, phone and watch.

TEST PARAMETERS

What: HealthKit app platform.

Who: Five (5) people to vary using the application.

Where: Depends on availability place of the user.

When: Starting the post of final exam on October 13, 2014.

TEST TASKS

1. Collect health related information.
2. See treatment instructions.
3. Edit reminders for health tasks.
4. Know if patient data can be shared to doctors.
5. See your whole health picture.
6. Manage what you’re tracking.
7. Set up every detail health.
8. Create emergency card.
9. Note calorie value consumption.
10. Add information if there are controls security data of user.

DIAGNOSIS AND ANALYSIS

This is gathering of usability test for diagnosing and analyzing contents.
Task 1 : Collect health related information; and Task 9: Note the calorie value consumption.
Task 2: See treatment Instructions; Task 3: Edit reminders for health tasks; and Task 4: Know if patient data can be shared to doctors.
Task 5: See your whole health picture. (This quickly view your most recent health and fitness data in one dashboard.)
Task 6: Manage what you’re tracking. (Uploads list of the different types of data being managed by Health, then tap see each other individually.)
Task 7: Set up every detail health. (This contains acomplete control over exactly which data to share with each health and fitness app.)
Task 8: Create emergency card. (Shows an emergency card that’s accessible from your lock screen with an easy access.)
Task 10: Add information if there are controls security data of user. (This can back up data stored in the Health app to iCloud, where it is encrypted while in transit and at rest. Apps that access HealthKit are required to have a privacy policy, so be sure to review these policies before providing apps with access to your health and fitness data. Thus, has issues of bug to secure user’s data.)

FINDINGS

Having the first time use, HealthKit app is tested for the sample of Five (5) people to vary using the application. They give details of health status per user item. This also provides framework and structure of health and fitness data that is designed to have wide range of sources, automatically merging the data from all user sources. But before starting this test, I have discovered upon the release to OS for iPhones and IPad they delayed release of this app due to bugs that are being fixed. But later on after fixing it apple released it on September 26, 2014. Thus a watch HealthKit is not applicable in the app primarily data security and expensive usage.

The HealthKit framework is designed to share data between apps in a meaningful way. To that end, the framework constrains the types of data and units to a predefined list. These limits ensure that other apps understand both what the data means and how it can be used. As a result, developers cannot create custom data types or units. Instead, HealthKit attempts to provide a reasonably complete list of data types and units.

Overall, health is a very difficult task to update in the Information Technology nowadays especially in the Philippines. Furthermore, I think this would be a great asset for health personnel making data gathering easy.

Design Suggestion

Primarily I like the design of this app but some color must be lessen it’s contrast. Some icons are not related to what it represents from it’s output. Above left photo is helpful for increasing user knowledge towards the app by its icon. On the right side is its sample for giving related health data.

Security is also one issue to the design. Based on Medical ID there should be a password so that no one can access their data.

Finally

I found this usability test a good way to know an app problem or bugs. Also having user’s test help me to know different needs and wants. Hopefully after finishing this tasks I would be able to learn, manage, and hopefully will contribution to future project that may come.

Thank you also for the semester. :3
