Anella Herim talks signing to Def Jam and more with Concealed Media
At a place in time where it seems like the music industry is full of artist who are just doing it for the fame and fortune, North Carolina recording artist Anella Herim is a breathe of fresh for those who enjoy the true art of creating music. It doesn’t matter if you listen to the hit song “Tequilla”, “Let’s Be Honest”, “Inside My Head”, or one of dozens of songs he’s dropped on SoundCloud Sundays, it’s clear that Anella has a talent for creating good music.
Concealed Media recently down with Anella to talk about his love for making music, growing up in Trinity, NC, signing the deal with Def Jam, his relationship with DJ E Sudd, the trip to Hawaii where he got his name and much more.
Signing a record deal with any mainstream label is a big accomplishment but when you sign with one of the most iconic labels in the business like Def Jam, the entire industry takes notice. When asked what was it about Def Jam that stood out to him, Anella said from the beginning they were the most authentic.
“They were super genuine…it was super family oriented. It was more like a family friend when we were introduced and not like business partner…everything just felt super authentic up there,” he said.
