Fellow Entrepreneur, Get Your Head Out of Your A$$

Today’s entrepreneurs spend most of their time living in the clouds.

In fact, some would argue that they just need to.

With everything they’re up against to build their business and create something for themselves, who could blame them right?

Sometimes it’s easier up there…

The dreams of grandeur, driving that slick car you just bought from the dealership, or making your life an Instagram vacation paradise.

The dream of having it all.

But what about those tax returns you’re meant to file before the end of the month? Or that crumpled up list of potential prospects you’ve been meaning to call but haven’t gotten your mind to it?

What about those sales goals you set for yourself that you haven’t hit for the third consecutive month?

This post is for any entrepreneur who feels like they’ve been ‘slaking’ or don’t really feel like they have any drive (left) to keep them going.

The entrepreneurs too stuck in the clouds to realise what’s going on…

Because the truth is, for every single moment you slack, you’re slowly edging yourself out of the game.

Now I’m not going to go into the statistics of what percentages of new businesses fail within the first 5 years, because I’m sure you’ve heard that a couple of times before.

But what I am going to do though, is set your mind into perspective.

Because you owe yourself a lot more than you think.

Deciding to go out of the norm, venture out into your own and start your own thing.

Deciding to laugh off every fact, figure and statistic that was hurled at your face of why starting a business at your age/experience level/etc wasn’t probably a good thing.

And the sacrifices you’ve had to make up until this point to achieve a dream you’re holding on to in the near future.

A dream…that you might not even get.

My fellow entrepreneur, please, get your head screwed on straight.

Whenever you feel like you’re slacking, DON’T put off those dead beat things you’re meant to do,

DON’T call up your mates/girls and hit up the club spending money you don’t have

AND DON’T….

PLEASE DON’T…

Justify why you’re slacking.

Just bloody put in the work.

Get up, shake it off, and WORK.

Grab a bottle of water, hit some quick pushups and…

GET BACK TO WORK.

Because something interesting happened when you decided to go off and work for yourself…

Not only did you decide to take up the burden of the challenges that come with it,

But you got other people watching you now...

And they’re waiting for you to be among the statistics they hear each day.

They’re waiting for you to re-affirm their belief of why they haven’t had the guts to implement that grand idea they’ve always had …

They’re waiting for you to give up and then quietly tell themselves…

“ I made the right choice not starting this thing in the first place. I’d probably have ended up like (insert your name here)”

Are you going to give them that chance?

Are you going to let them fall further into their own pit of despair?

Or are you going to give them a reason to succeed?

A reason to finally pick themselves up, follow you as an example, and have the drive to implement their own dream and get the chance to create their own reality.

My fellow entrepreneur, the world is watching you…

And the only way to succeed is by putting your head down, and doing the bloody work when you don’t feel like it.

Doing the work when your friends are out having a good time and getting laid.

Doing the work when you haven’t gone on a single vacation with your loved one for 3 years.

And making sure you DAMN LOVE IT.

Love the sweat, love the grind, love the tears…

Because at the end of the day,

You’re not only doing this for you…

But for everyone else who’s looking at you and secretly hoping you can be the reason they can dream again.

So don’t let them down ;)
