I’m sorry, but your understanding of the term “natural variability” is not what it should be. When you set over 2,000 record highs and only 75 record lows, that is not natural variability. Setting records is outside natural variability, especially with that many high records as opposed to so few low records.

When you talk about natural variability, you are talking about within a couple deviations of the mean, not way outside them. Setting records means that nothing is natural about it.
