How I Wrote 400 Medium Articles in Under 6 Months

I have finally reached a long-awaited milestone. I have just published my 400th article on Medium, and I am ecstatic that I have been able to reach this number. It has taken more time than is imaginable, and I have been grinding for months, but I have finally posted number 400. There is something about the milestones in the 100’s that bring me a burst of excitement and motivation. Now, it’s onward to 500 stories, and I’m curious to see how quickly I will reach it.
For those who aren’t familiar with my personal story, I quit my job back in August of 2023, and I have been dedicating significant portions of my time ever since to either writing or engaging on Medium. I have fallen in love with the Medium community and all the people who make this platform such a special place. I have learned a lot and have grown as a writer more than I expected. I have had my ups and downs, but all that matters to me is that I am still here and stronger than ever. I have learned countless lessons, and I will touch on those in the coming sections.
Positives I Have Experienced
1. Feedback from readers. I love reading feedback and comments from readers, and I enjoy engaging with all my readers. My goal has always been to respond to every comment with a comment of my own or, at a bare minimum, a clap to show that the comment didn’t go unnoticed. I have been successful at this, as far as I’m aware, and it will still be a goal going forward. I think my interaction on this platform may even be too much, as on a regular basis, Medium will turn off my ability to comment. These are the times when I may have to resort to just leaving a clap instead of a comment as I would like.
2. Reading other stories. Stories from other writers are always a joy to read, and I genuinely enjoy all the unique voices I have the privilege to read. There are so many beautiful voices on this platform, and I look forward to reading all the original stories that are published daily. The variety and quality of articles is top-notch, and Medium is the best place on the internet to hear from such a vast array of people. Thank you to all the writers who share their unique voices and share their own perspectives and experiences.
3. Earnings. I am more than satisfied with the earnings I have earned thus far on Medium. I may not be experiencing the flourishing success of the top voices on this platform. Still, I like to gauge my progress against my own expectations instead of falling into the comparison mindset and getting jealous of others. My earnings are an area that I am optimistic I can grow in, and I will continue to share my progress. I get inspired seeing authors’ posts on this topic and the incredible results they have achieved. I think it helps others to see my more mediocre numbers and know not to give up just because of the incredible statistics others have experienced early on.
4. Building my voice. I truly am thankful to have a community I can share my own experiences and views with. I have the privilege to write about any topic I choose and release it to the world. I never thought I would have thousands reading my writing and stories. This incredible opportunity has encouraged me to continue to develop as a writer and experiment with what works for me. I am still in the process of gaging what topics my readers most relate to and what topics I genuinely enjoy writing about. I think it is important to find an intersection between what readers enjoy and what I enjoy writing about. This is where you can find joy in your work while still generating earnings. I didn’t join this platform to make an income, but I am starting to see the possibility of creating a solid side income through consistency and an understanding of the value I can bring to my readers.
