It would be terrible if instead of campaigning strongly in a number of swing states (which membership changes over time), candidates only campaigned in a handful of massive urban centers like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City as a National Vote would encourage thus breaking one purpose of the Electoral College to promote campaigning more broadly throughout the country than its big cities.
