Amazon’s Holding a Sale on the Kindle, $30 to $50 Off

Amazon is about to make a lot of people regret missing out on the launch of the new Kindle/Fire later this month.

The retailer launched a new sales promotion today for the Kindle, one which is only open to Amazon prime members. All three models are included, including the Paperwhite, Voyage, and the basic Kindle.

Act fast and you can get the basic Kindle for $50. The (ad-subsidized) Paperwhite is selling for $90, and the Kindle Voyage has been marked down to $150 (the lowest price I’ve seen for that ereader).

Amazon likes to have sales about once or twice a month, so this could just be another in a long line of sales, but I also happen to know that there’s a rumor of a new Amazon device launching later this month.

That new device isn’t the Kindle Flame I pranked you with last Friday, but I was told it has Wifi, BT, and 3G. It’s also supposed to have a case with an integrated battery, but I don’t know anything about the screen, price, or software.

I can’t say I know enough to justify announcing the new device in a post, but I also would be remiss if I didn’t mention it here and give everyone a chance to bet on the new model.
