Thanks for an interesting article — which cuts through a lot of the hype.

I saw the very same headline on a couple of occasions last year — but in my case, the country being powered by wind energy was Scotland (where I live). Needless to say, our nuclear and gas stations were still feeding power to the grid — so it was a misleading, if irresistible, headline.

Personally speaking, I find it encouraging that countries like Denmark and Scotland have at least developed their renewables to the point where they have the potential to run the grid (on occasion).

If sufficient investment and development in energy storage systems was to be put in place, then one day the headline will be true.
