To have to wear two hats (user + PM), investigate, and wait for a response from their PM is already an indicator of design flaw, if not with the feature itself definitely with the onboarding. Change management is critical for primary functions like this, especially when money is involved, and imo they blew it bad. I read the release note before coming to this agreement with your post.
