If you watched the 2024 Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, you watched an absolute clinic by Kyle Larson.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver won both stages AND the overall race over Tyler Reddick and Ryan Blaney, leading a staggering 181 out of 267 laps en route to one of the most dominant wins in recent history and most shockingly enough? This was a true statement win.

Kyle Larson was able to run in every groove, from the wall all the way to the apron to keep Tyler Reddick behind him in the closing laps, even fending off a charge from Reddick when his 23XI teammate Bubba Wallace was pushing him, making both cars inherently faster, and Larson still managed to outrun them both.

What kind of precedent could this possibly set for the rest of the season on intermediate tracks? One where Kyle Larson is the driver to beat no matter where the Cup Series goes? It’s certainly looking like that could be the precedent moving forward throughout the rest of the season, which in and of itself, is a scary proposition.

Tyler Reddick in the #45 was the only driver that could keep up with Larson all day, and he put on and incredible show trying to catch him, but like the Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill to opposing defenders, Larson gave the field the peace sign all race long as he sped away on virtually…
