Let’s Throw Some Money at Our Problems: July 2016 Check-In

The big news is that MY SPOUSE GOT A JOB, HE IS AT WORK NOW EARNING MONEY! It’s not a huge amount of money, but I am so happy that we can split some household expenses again after 3+ years, starting next month.

Credit cards:

7/1/16 and 8/4/16: $0 (been keeping it that way, which is great)

Personal savings (beyond house/joint/emergency funds in savings — i.e., savings not otherwise obligated):

7/1/16: $5,772.74

8/4/16: $1,783.30 (I went on vacation and it was amazing!!! I also pre-paid my next vacation in January!)

House savings (joint with my husband; covers repairs/maintenance/improvement and doubles as our mortgage payoff fund):

8/3/16: $53,731.96 — Added interest. We have a few purchases to make over the rest of the year but none are massive.

Savings progress towards mortgage payoff = $53,731.96/177,900.84 = 30.20% (up from 30.18% last month)
