It feels good to tell others that you’re hustling, working hard and are super busy.
But are you really?
Many people say these often to create an illusion, for themselves and others, that they are doing something in their life. This gives them a sense of progress… and a consolation-excuse to say “I worked so hard” when things don’t work out in the future.
Now, if we say we’re hustling but, in reality, we aren’t — and we say this to others to make ourselves feel good and look cool, that’s likely has to do a lot with our insecurities. We’re insecure. And that’s a whole different topic altogether.
But if we say we’re hustling to make ourselves believe something that isn’t really there, that’s a recipe for failure.
Audit your time. Audit your output. Are you really hustling? How productive are you?
Self-awareness is everything.
Lying to ourselves — misleading ourselves — will take us to unhappy place in life.
Are we really hustling? Or are we just saying that to make ourselves falsely believe that we’re progressing and not wasting time?
Hustling is sexy now. But very few people are actually doing it.
Moreover, hustle may be the sexy of now, productivity will always be evergreen.
