Please Stop Fat-Shaming My Baby

Dear Caroline,

I don’t think that great parents need to look great or be slim! These things aren’t important for a child’s love.

However, please use your experiences now and reflect on how and where you want to steer your baby’s future. Just because you think she’s perfect and you like the soft spot on her neck, doesn’t mean she will feel the same later. If, while growing up, she doesn’t care about e.g. sports or fashion, that’s her thing. But preventing her from being able to decide herself, because she’s already too big to do either (and many other things; I think you know) is not fair.

I hope both of you will feel great in future!
