Dealing with Deadlines

The Upside

So, everyone officially submitted their draft last Friday. Honestly though, my draft wasn’t much of a draft in my opinion. I’ve been out with a pretty severe cold the past week or so, and after some feedback from my supervisor, I’ll have to pretty much rewrite my entire method section (which I didn’t really have the time for before the draft submission deadline).

In the writing workshop a few weeks ago, the idea of ‘writing without judgement’ was introduced. But it’s hard to write without a fear of judgement when I hold the knowledge that my peers (and possibly even my friends) will have to look at my (honestly very VERY incomplete) draft.

However, a bad draft is still a draft in the end, and it certainly feels like I have a better idea of the direction I am headed towards in my research proposal.

Here’s to hoping that I get better from my cold soon though!
