She’s the first one in a series of wives that met the king’s wrath. Arguably, the prettiest of all, Leila’s story will start our project.
The first of many, to fall to his anger.
She knew her fate, her tears began to meander.
Her name was Leila, meaning daughter of the night.
There was nobody here, to save her from this plight.
A beautiful, sweet, dark-haired girl
Blossoming into womanhood, a flower of the world.
A carpenter’s daughter, with skin like polished oak.
But even her beauty was not enough to evoke…
compassion in the hearts of the soldiers who stole her away,
whispering, “tomorrow will be your last day”.

The idea for The 1096 Wives of King Shahryar NFT project was born sometime at the end of the Summer of 2021 … yet here we are in April of 2022.
