The Most Important Lessons

To let someone never know what it feels like to be loved is just wrong, especially when they are.

Say thank you, to everything. Your breath, your life, your house, just everything you take for granted. Pause long enough to watch a sunset or a sunrise.

Go after your gifts and your true passions.

Celebrate, learn, and experience your community.

Forgive someone, no matter how bad they screwed up. That your life, the way you live it, and who you live it for is a gift. Make sure that’s a present you take the time to open before you start your day, everyday.

That your parents actually were right.

There is such a thing as true love.

Music fills and fits every mood you can throw at it. Books are never ending stories, some happy, some sad. Go to the movies as often as you can, it’s two or more hours where you can forget the world outside and get lost in one made up.

Life is short, never leave a minute of it not lived.

Always take a picture, it does last longer.

Find something that will make you laugh until you pee or cry. It’s amazing to experience or help someone else experience uncontrollable laughter.

Allow someone to realize their fullest potential. Help someone belong. Don’t let a person or peer pass out of your life without them knowing how grateful you are to have known them.

Allow and guide a team to know what it feels like to win. How they can accomplish incredible things much more far reaching working together than apart. Never miss out on what the first sip of freshly brewed coffee tastes like.

Heroes are around you everyday; at work, at home, in your child’s eyes, your dogs wet nose, and the whisper of your true love telling you good night every night.

Dream, as often as you can. Reimagine something, that’s being innovative too.

You can be whatever you want and you are in the driver seat of your own destiny. No one can be responsible for you, but you. If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, you can’t.

Learn other people’s stories, they will be the gas you need to make the journey and the fuel you will need to not quit or give up. Strive to find someone to give positive recognition to daily, everyone deserves to know how great they are. It’s incredibly hard to make a frown, and way easier to smile. Feels great too.

Give up the ghost, be in the present, and push for the future.

What’s important now, may not be tomorrow. Know that it is okay, it doesn’t make it less important, keep looking for lessons.
