The right to equal “pursuit of happiness” is so completely perverted now that one really doesn’t even need to present examples of the systemic failure of government to protect it. There are no qualifiers or requirements attached to rights that are attendant to simply being human, and it is the responsibility of government to create the most conducive conditions to realizing them for everyone, which is not possible with the minimalist government that libertarians dream of.
