Not to be too harsh, but you literally wrote an article saying, “Being poor kinda sucks.” That’s kind of the point. It provides motivation to get out (provided you’re the kind of person who wants to do so).

Also, the Brookings Institute (a left leaning organization) has shown that in order to get out of poverty you need to follow three rules: graduate high school, get a full time job, and wait until 21 to have kids. It must be remembered that the state is a monopoly on force, and force is its mechanism. If we aren’t even expecting basic levels of adult responsibility out of people, how can we justify threatening the productive with violence to redistribute wealth?
