Not only did we watch commercial laden TV, we had to use that newsprint-paper TV Guide booklet to find a show and watch it at a set time. And the parents were probably too cheap to buy that new-fangled fancy VCR+ where you could type in the code from the TV Guide to record it for you (on a tape that had the scotch tape over the tab, for sure).
Oh yeah, and handwriting those essays in cursive. Writers bump, white out… fun times.
