There are many third party hosting solutions that would enable you to still have your own website. Some mentioned here like Wordpress.com, and others too. Along with a local or cloud backup it’s a pretty solid business option without the challenges of self hosting while offering flexibility (like those tags and navigation), security, and your own domain name.

Additionally, if you wanted to remain self hosted, there are more and more services at flat rate monthly fees (30–50 for a small site, no surprises) who add pro security and constantly monitor and upgrade your site 24/7. Or, you could invest in premium “specialty” hosting where the host takes care of Wordpress and security (kind of a combo of the above).

Personally I would not recommend ever donating your business IP here exclusively, or using this (or any similar platform) as a primary site holding your IP. Pieces sure, grow an audience and generate conversation, but not the entire lot. If you do, as with any third party solution, certainly have a solid backup business plan for if it suddenly disappears or doesn’t deliver results.
