Lilith’s Child

In that moonlit forest patch, where they won’t be able to find us,
Staring into each other’s eyes,
We could hear each other’s incomplete breaths,
I could feel the adrenaline pumping in my temples.
I had waited for this for so long,
Just me and her, some kind of energy between us,
Composed of the longing, the denials, the unfulfilled promises,
That could destroy us both, with love.
One motive we had, to run away
From reality, and from shackles.
Tonight, we have done it.
Tonight, we have won.
Here we stand now, far from any obstruction,
Now what? Was the question.
Looking into each other’s eyes,
We could both see the agitation from the consequences that we knew,
And the realization that nothing will ever be the same.
We could have done it,
We could have burnt those emotions in the heat of our instincts,
Could have possessed her there and then.
Alas, we just went into each other’s arms in what felt like forever,
In what felt like falling, so real.
In the arms, we tried to hide.
The night stood still,
As if to finally let us to get what we had prayed for.
The incomplete completeness.
