Today in a world where we are running behind things to become better and better, we forget about a small and effortless yet powerful thing: gratitude. Yes, which we learned when we were small children from our teachers, parents or others. We should never underestimate gratitude and its power to find more happiness and peace in our lives.

Gratitude means recognizing and appreciating the good things around us, whether big or small. Basically saying “Thanksfor what we have.

What Can A “Thanks” Do?

The word “Thanks” has so much power that it can work wonders in our lives. When we take time to appreciate the good stuff in our lives, we naturally feel happier. It’s like a warm, cosy feeling inside that sticks around. We start seeing the bright side even when things get tough. This positive outlook can ease stress and help to bounce back from challenges. When we stress less, we reduce feelings of depression and anxiety resulting in better mental health. Who can think that the word “Thank you” can reduce our anxiety levels? That’s the power of gratitude.

Saying a “Thankyou” isn’t just polite but a reviving power for relationships, creating stronger bonds between two persons. We connect with people on deeper levels with gratitude. And with gratitude, we become kinder. When we are thankful for what we have, we want to share that goodness with others which makes us kind. It reminds us to appreciate what we have, and we become more contented. It makes us optimistic, filling ourselves with hope of a better tomorrow.

It brings us to the present moment. When we’re grateful, we’re less likely to take things for granted, and we find our happiness even in the small joys and blessings that exist in our daily lives. We start noticing our strengths and achievements making us fall in love with ourselves. This boosts our self-esteem and makes us feel more confident.

In addition to all of these, gratitude can improve our physical health. A study published in the journal “Psychosomatic Medicine” in 2015 found that people who reported higher levels of gratitude had lower levels of inflammatory biomarkers, such as C-reactive protein (CRP). This proves that gratitude makes us less likely to suffer from chronic diseases. Also, gratitude improves our sleep as well as improves our immune systems.
