Who are we?
We are a metaverse under the StarkNet ecosystem, we focus on building PVP arena games for players to compete using NFT equipment that they forge from staking.
9 arena games will be included, where players can buy land to host arena competitions of hourly, daily, weekly, monthly time frame. Players can run private or open games to socialize with friends, and of course they can just act as the host.
How are we different?
- Strongly on-chain
In the Ninth world, Every movement related to winning/losing is tied to your benefits, and the logic behind the design of the whole games and tools is based on fully on-chain.
However, considering the balance between performance and game playability, we decide to adopt stongly on-chain at this moment: All operations that affect the outcome of the game and require the player to make decisions are calculated by the contract, aimming at ensure anything to do with money has to be fair and secure. - The best on-chain gaming experience
Customizable one-time signature — Players can choose in-game gameplay that requires only one signature in the setting panel. - A thorough token economy
The Ninth has a thorough token economy of owning land and participate in competitions: Inflation — since people stake for resources can forge equipments to be used in different competitions; Deflation — since a percentage of fee from the ticket revenue to burn. - NFT usability:
The usability of game assets are not limited to just one game. Equipment, prop, and character NFTs obtained in the Ninth PVE can be directly transformed into important assets of another game under the Ninth by combination, reminting or direct conversion.
Why StarkNet?
There are 5 mainstream solutions for layer 2. State Channel (Celer Network), Plasma (Matic Network), Rollups and Validium to achieve cost efficient performance. Currently the two Rollups are Optimistic and Zk.
Optimistic Rollup is like a transition solution, it is more adaptive and easier for operators to implement now, but it is bad for user experience because its challenge period can take up to 7 days meaning you cannot withdraw your assets instantly.
Zk Rollup generalizes computation with Zero Knowledge and it is fast and secure, but it is still on its way, the user case is on DEX mainly for now.
Validium (StarkNet) is like the next new thing with a 3 in 1 hybrid solution of State Channel + Plasma + Zk Rollup, it is the fastest with best user experience. Using Zero Knowledge reduces risks for operators to cheat, meaning more decentralized and secure.
The Journey So Far
Our original intention was to create a metaverse game which is able to perfectly balance fun and security.
Since the beginning of the project, we have been constantly developing and improving the entire macro metaverse and every detail of the Ninth world.
In February 2022, we officially met everyone on Twitter for the first time, and gradually told the background story of the Ninth. In the same month, we released our website and built the connection with StarkWare. In March, excitedly, we presented multiple demos of our first PVP game to the public, and had our first partnership with RealPlayerDAO. At this milestone moment, our community grow stronger and stronger.
The Ninth team continually contributes on bringing our fam with high quality elements and designs of the game, and will update the latest development progress to people who support us.
The Future
We have finished the game development for the first PVP Arena competition and internal alpha test is now in progress. After that, we will invite the public to test the game together. Besides, the Ninth world consists of 60,000 pieces of land, more gameplays is taking shape and will be host on these lands in future.
We will grow with the community and Starknet, iterate our products, and create more interesting and valuable fully on-chain products.
