The Tired Artists

Hello! let’s introduce ourselves, as two tired but passionate creatives, who are ready to wake up fellow artists feeling the same way.

Britta Anderson — I am a visual artist currently working with materials such as oil, raw objects and installation to explore themes of contemporary aesthetics — through form, space and structure.

My influences and motivations are expressed through my tactile input — continuously triggered by the natural environment of where I am from and where I’ve been.

To sum it up: I create both spacious land/seascape paintings, while also constructing aesthetically driven installations, from gathered to manufactured materials.

I am continuously drifting away from my traditional landscape renderings, and exploring more hands-on aesthetics — allowing me to navigate the conversation of a painting. I’ve also grabbed my degrees in Art Ed/Studio Art at MSUM, and a Masters of Fine Art at UNC.

Brandon LaPlante — I am a visual artist, sculptor and musician. Whether painting a mural, writing a musical composition, or building a sculptural table out of stone, steel, glass & wood, contrast is the prevailing theme in my work across all mediums.

My inner influences draw on manipulating whatever material /medium I can get my hands on.

I have spent the years since receiving my degree in Studio Art from MSUM, traveling the world as an independent artist, musician and creative advocate. Currently, I am exploring the balance between functional and representational work, into a more process driven practice — allowing me to experiment with how far I can manipulate structural sculpture.
