I really appreciate your folk examples. That really is a point that has gone lost. It used to be considered, in most all cultures, a sign of true courteousness and genteelness to react in the manor described in these stories. I have heard similar ones to these as well. It was considered a story of lesson to pass on to every generation.

The true meaning of gracious. That is what we have lost.
