Hi, I'm Colleen, or "The Abortionfluencer" and social media. After frustration at not being able to rattle me, an online anti-abortion troll called me "just an abortionfluencer," and I decided to embrace the label!

I'm known among abortion rights activists on Instagram and TikTok for calling out the blatant grift of the religious right's attack on repro rights in the United States and producing general content about reproductive rights. I hate bullies and lying, and when they come together in the anti-abortion movement, I feel compelled to shine a bright-ass light on it. Abortion rights are human rights, and we need to get LOUDER about this fundamental right to our bodies -- thus, me starting a Medium blog.

I was born the same year Roe v. Wade became law. I'm also one of those 1 in 4 women in the U.S. to have gotten an abortion. Twenty years ago, it was fully covered by insurance, and even though I did have to endure anti-abortion harassment outside the clinic - lunatics screaming over a 12-foot wall they scaled with ladders - it was quick, relatively unobtrusive, not too painful, and one of the best decisions I've ever made.

And though I never regretted it personally, I grew up in the era of white feminism and leaders like Hillary Clinton using the slogan, safe, legal and rare. But abortion is healthcare, and there are no "two sides" to this issue. We have let bad faith actors, milquetoast politicians, and the media perpetuate this myth for far too long, and now our rights are on the chopping block. People with uteruses in the United States have a constitutional right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness - and access to ALL options in repro healthcare is a fundamental part of these rights. We must fight.

I want to send a shout out to my fellow abortion rights activists in our online space for feeding me information and anti-abortion nonsense to call out. With a full-time job, I can't get to all of it, but I love our little community and will do the best I can. Keep it up!
