When it comes to digital marketing, social media is one of the most powerful tools available. Billions of users are on Facebook and Instagram, and among all those users is the perfect audience for your agribusiness. If you want to make your brand known to them, you need to understand how farmers use social media.

If you’re in agribusiness, you’re probably already aware that farmers aren’t as unsophisticated as some stereotypes may suggest. They can be just as advanced as any city dweller, many using advanced technology and automation to make their farming more efficient. Their use of technology doesn’t stop in the field, either. Learn how farmers are using social media, and why that affects your agribusiness.

Social Media Popularity

More and more older people are using social media every day. Well over half of Americans from 50–64 are using Facebook. That percentage increases the younger you go, and that already covers most people active in farming. A quarter of all Americans who live in rural areas use Instagram, and over half in rural areas use Facebook. Given that there are tens of millions of people living in rural areas, you’re looking at enormous potential audience numbers.
