The increasingly “special” military


The military is shrinking, and its strategies are now smaller in scale. Gone are the tank divisions bursting into the Fulda gap. In are small-scale special ops, augmented through automation.

The citizen armies may be out of style, with elite hero units doing most of their work in the shadows.
