In September 2019, the Bamboo team was super honored to be welcomed to the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) SDG Media Zone in New York, to share its vision of a pressing issue: Accessible and affordable health insurance for all.

The UN SDGs media zone is all about encouragement, advocacy and announcing concrete plans. The primary goal of Bamboo at the summit was to bring forward a technological solution for existing problems in traditional healthcare insurance. Bamboo has been selected as a guest and speaker for this honorable event because:
Our mission aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals of achieving universal health coverage and providing equal health insurance access for everyone.

Over breakfast we held a panel discussion, with some amazing and experienced professionals:
- Welcome remarks: Amir Dossal (President and CEO, Global Partnership Forum)
- Moderator: Georgia Frances King (Ideas Editor, Quartz)
- Panelists: Sergio Fernandez de Cordova (Chairman, PVBLIC Foundation), Vincent Kwo (Co-Founder and CEO, Bamboo) Vin Menon (Co-Founder and Blockchain Advisor, Bamboo) and Adrian Tay (Director of Strategy, Bamboo).
All the participants had the opportunity to discuss their insights on healthcare development and its correlation with the cutting-edge technologies.
Bamboo, founded by Archipelago Group which has its roots dating back to 2005, has extensive support from an experienced management team. Bamboo has the resources of Archipelago, more than 25 other partners and access to more than 2 million customers. It is well-positioned to reduce the healthcare gap in ASEAN and move the UN SDGs 3.8.1–3.8.2 forward in the region to provide free or low insurance premiums with exemplary customer support by leveraging emerging technologies.

Free and Borderless Insurance for All
It’s no secret that healthcare, the food industry and governmental bodies represent a closed loop. The imperfections of existing healthcare insurance causes additional financial pressure on consumers and government welfare systems. The revolutionary improvements advanced by Bamboo remove the financial burden from the equation and add a whole new layer of security and reliability to the food and healthcare industries to provide the world free and borderless insurance. By implementing the innovative achievements from AI, machine learning and blockchain technologies, Bamboo is restructuring the very foundation of healthcare insurance and its perception within a region.
Apart from solving the apparent problems, Bamboo is aiming for the core of an issue. It empowers consumers to take a proactive stand and have more control over their health. Starting from the very beginning, Bamboo is eliminating the faults of the food industry to prevent any harm caused by food quality or poor eating habits. By tracking consumers’ health data, the system is able to analyze the correlations between food, vital signs, and prescriptions and services rendered by healthcare providers. Interlinked data saves both money and time, as well as supports a more precise treatment course and healthier lifestyles.
The platform is secured against fraud and operates as a community of consumers, service providers and stores under one roof. By establishing a separate insurance universe, Bamboo adds to the common welfare, and where there is welfare, there is insurance in the new age.
With blockchain likely being the next revolutionary equivalent to the internet, Bamboo is riding a wave of innovation and introduces a more coherent, accessible and affordable insurance to future generations today.
