instanceof works if you use it properly, which is in the case of checking whether or not something is an instance of a class or one of it’s subclasses. It’s not designed to check whether or not something is monkey-constructed via Object.prototype helper methods. I think your argument is slightly flawed here. It’s just a tool, and all tools have a place. Trying to apply a single pattern to all problems isn’t a mature way to go about engineering work in my opinon
