India, world’s largest womb of democracy, well adorned by robust legislative, executive and judicial powers, with checks and balances on each others. Democracy has another important fourth pillar — media! Media is a term homologous to revolution - an institution that builds a nation, an agitation which regulates elected government.

The media covers each and every issue which is of public interest. Social, political, economic, cultural aspects of society are covered by media. Media should stand for justice and assist common man in their struggle for justice within a society having inequality, though the constitution argues strongly for “equality”…

The Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013 was instituted on September 18th, 2013 in which a manual scavenge is defined as, “a person engaged or employed by an individual or local authority, an agency, or a contractor, for manually cleaning, carrying, disposing of, or otherwise handling in any manner, human excreta in an insanitary latrine, an open drain or pit into which the human excreta from the insanitary latrines is disposed of, or on a railway track, before the excreta fully decomposes”.

I was expecting the three years of my life in Lady Shri Ram (LSR) college to be full of growth, learning and empowerment in an encouraging environment. But, it turned out to be very different from what I was expecting. A large part of my college years were spent struggling to find some space in an upper-caste and elite institute; asking myself, “What is wrong with me?” and often times ending up feeling inadequate.

A vagarious mind

tired of wandering like clouds

above the hills of Himalayas,

now needs an aimful settlement,

peaceful rest where they can breathe.

Frost told them

I think about this statement a lot. Everything is sexist, everything is racist…

an ensuring hug

I keep walking towards that Blue., towards that
