Know the difference. Tell people at parties.

If you have never heard of cannabinoid or absolutely have no idea what it is at all, it’s not as complicated as you think. In fact it is just a scientific word for the most popular drug in the world, Cannabis. Cannabinoids is a class of chemicals in scientific terms, and basically summarize all cannabinoids like CBD and CBG into a category. But even though most of the cannabinoids available today can be used for the same purpose, they are not the same and carry different compounds. There are many different types of forms of cannabis, but it can be very easy to get confused about the difference between each kind. They all look and can sound similar, but understanding the differences between them will help you keep them from causing confusion. Here is a more in-depth explanation of the difference between CBG and CBD:

What Is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol is basically the main leader of all cannabinoids because they are the most used by our society for medical purposes and also entertainment purposes. Thousands of scientists have discovered the terrific benefits of this medical plant and there are still studies being found. CBD can come in the form of an oil or extract, or taken as a daily supplement, some people even use CBD oil in their vaping pens. The benefits of CBD are almost endless, including having the ability to kill cancer cells. Researchers have found over a hundred ways to use this product, making it one of the most versatile drugs on the planet. Today, more than a thousand stores sell this product in oil or extract form, and is extremely popular for its medical benefits.

What Is Cannabigerol (CBG)?

This particular cannabinoid is a little more different from others because it is a mixture of THC and CBD. THC or scientifically known as Tetrahydrocannabinol is much more potent than CBD. It is one of the main drugs that get people high, mainly taken by smoking, but also can be used as an oil. This particular kind of cannabis is not allowed for anyone under 21, because of the strong effects it has on the mind and body. Therefore cannabigerol is more potent and stronger form of CBD, because it’ll also contains THC as well.

What Is The difference between The Words Cannabinoids, CBD and CBG?

If you are getting confused between cannabinoids, Cannabidiol and cannabigerol, this is because the spelling of these three are very similar, but they do not have the same meaning. Cannabinoids is just a term used as a category name for scientific compounds like CBD and CBG. They both fall under the same category of cannabinoids, along with a hundred other scientific names cannabis. To help you understand the difference between the these two, think of CBD and CBG as Mom and child. CBD is CBG’s mother, and THC is CBG’s father, therefore CBG is very closely related to CBD, but they have different chemistries. Therefore CBD and CBG are different because CBG is mixed with a different compound of THC, making it more potent that CBD.
