The Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) Parents for Transparency and Safe Reopening, a group of concerned parents in Oakland, are pushing the school district to come up with a plan to reopen once Covid-19 case numbers (hopefully) come down again in the spring.

The end of this hellacious — maddening, depressing, completely draining — year is almost here. Though it doesn’t mean the difficulties of the past twelve months will miraculously evaporate into thin air, 2021 does give us a fresh start and a chance to course-correct.
