When Taylor Swift and I Rule The World

I jog to her uplifting beat while I silently sing her negative words…”Cause a haters gone hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.” I look at what I perceive is everything and everyone around me and the lyrics begin to fade with the constant noise of my ugly roommate’s voice in my head. “If I was that homeless man, I wouldn’t be smoking and I certainly wouldn’t own a dog. If I lived here, I wouldn’t be dressed in black… “ If I ran this city, the garbage cans would never overflow…if I had her feet…, if I had her money…, if I had her figure…”
…and this is where I am walking

It is the Santa Monica beach, where the magnificent blue waters and the bright golden sunshine bring rich and positive energy to those who are lucky enough to take it in, to nourish it and to appreciate it.
Our mind tends to limit us while we are caught up in our superficial, negative thoughts and these thoughts simply feed our ego. My nasty brain roommate (who I call Sylvia) has a force that sucks up my intellectual energy. She is judgmental, opinionated and selfish and she forces me to miss out on all that life offers us during our short stay on this magnificent Earth.
Today I will serve Sylvia her eviction notice and I hope that you will do the same.
TODAY, begin to be aware of your surroundings, be present with those who you meet and those who you love and TODAY, understand that the need to control serves no purpose other than to create frustration. Most of all, TODAY, begin to grab onto all of the the opportunities that the Universe has to offer.
The morning meditation below will take you about 30 seconds. Read it, take it in and live it throughout your day.
Let Everything Breathe
by Leo Babauta
As you sit here reading these words, you are breathing … stop for a moment and notice this breath.
You could control the breath, and make it behave as you like … or you can simply let yourself breathe.
There is peace in just letting your body breathe, without having to do anything about it.
Now imagine letting the your hands breathe. Just let them be, without having to control them. Just let them breathe.
Now look around you, and notice what else is in the room with you. See each object, and let it breathe.
If there are any people in the room with you, in your building, or in nearby buildings our houses … see them in your mind and let them breathe.
When you let them breathe, you just let them be, exactly as they are. You don’t need to change them, don’t need to control them, don’t need to improve them. You just let them breathe, in peace, and you accept that. You might even smile at this breathing.
As you go through your day, let everything breathe. Let yourself breathe.
There is no need to do anything. You don’t expect anything from anything or anybody. Just let them come as they come, let them go as they go.
Just appreciate everything and everybody as they are, miracles of existence, breathing in the soft air of the world, and smile at this joyful manifestation of love.
